Absolutely.

There’s a shortage of lerts here, too. It must be that supply-chain thing.

Thanks!

I need to go make the bed and then put my clean clothes away. At least for overnight, because tomorrow, I’m going to swap out the winter clothes for summer. There are a lot of things I need to donate, for sure. If I had a cedar chest, I would keep the most important... Wait... I think cedar blocks are still sold, aren’t they? Maybe I can keep some things if they’re packed with cedar blocks in containers lined with tissue paper...

Well, good morning and happy Tuesday!

I remember the Eastern “Whisperjet” series. I remember when 747s were new. I remember the first time the plane I was in pulled up next to an L-1011 tri-engine jumbo asking myself how these things ever climbed off the ground.

A lot of time has passed, but I won’t forget the thrill of the first time I pulled back on a yoke and aimed a Cessna trainer skyward. And I’ll never stop looking at a clear blue sky and wishing I could slip the surlies and dance on laughter silvered wings.

I guess cedar blocks are a thing; haven’t tried it. If you don’t find them for sale conveniently, we can cut you some. There are plenty of red cedars around here.

Jake had gone to bed for the day, but he got up when I swatted a fly near him. (His own fault: he should have eaten it!) Then he went outside and chased a squirrel, perhaps to reestablish his Cat cred.

I flew a Cessna a couple of times, too. Sort of like driving a Volkswagen Beetle in the sky ...

I remember the 747s. I almost flew to Germany in one, and then I decided that with my (then) luck, the wings would fall off somewhere over the Atlantic. I don’t recall how long they had been flying then, but maybe three months.

As for piloting, I was born too soon. Women didn’t fly, didn’t work in the USPS, didn’t do much of anything and if you were divorced, you may have been a leper.

My dream was to be a pilot before I was old enough to understand that “women didn’t do those things.”

I checked eBay and they have a 73-piece set of cedar blocks and things for $20 so I said, “why not?” On my way home from the appointment today, I’ll stop at Dollar Tree and get some white tissue paper. I just have to make room, that’s all! I don’t want to move a bunch of stuff with me that I’ll just donate once I get there.

I try to give things away before moving, but one finds things afterwards, too.

Jake has now chased a bird. #WayToCat

In these days, anything that comes in the mail - other than bills - is a thrill.

Yes ma’am!! I love seeing the mail truck stop in front of my apartment! Or UPS, or FedEx. Or the newer delivery companies. :o]

Sometimes, the mail carrier puts it in the box and that’s even more fun, even when I read an email that says “whatever” came.

A delivery from Amazon came on Sunday morning, when I was sitting out on the front sidewalk drawing plants. It’s like every day is Christmas!

Back from St George. I stopped at Dollar Tree and got tissue paper so I’m ready for when the cedar stuffs come.

The drive in was cool and the drive back was interesting. Most folks were polite and didn’t crowd.

One guy stopped at an intersection (no stop sign) and wasn’t moving, so after a reasonable amount of time, I beeped the horn at him. Otherwise it wasn’t a bad trip.

The last of the comets was still flying until about 10 years ago.
We’d put dodgy toys on board capable of unmentionable things.
