“The panic has been generated by a press who are desperate to bring down President Trump. “

so.....you want me to believe that the entire world, 145 countries, collapsed their economies, hired a bunch of crisis actors to pretend to be sick, just to bring down Trump.

differences between flu and Wuhan Virus:
doctors don’t drop dead because of infection with the flu
nurses don’t drop dead because of infection with the flu
people don’t drop dead on the street because of infection with flu
opportunistic bacterial infections caused by the flu can be treated with common antibiotics
the only antibiotic that seems partly effective with Wuhan Virus is Z-pak - the strongest antibiotic we have on the market
Ro of the flu is about 1.0. Ro of Wuhan Virus is 2-5. (tbd)
flu requires a short, if terminal, hospital stay and is generally viewed as an expected end-of-life event for the aged/disabled/physiologically compromised
Wuhan Virus doesn’t care what your age is, who you are, or what your existing or nonexisting morbidities are.
Flu usually doesn’t have lasting physiological effects. There is evidence that Wuhan Virus does have lasting or long term physiological effects.
Hospitals are able to compensate for annual flu cases without running out of personnel or supplies. Doubling or tripling the load with the introduction highly contagious pandemic or epidemic strains overloads those hospital resources

H1N1 was not a ‘normal’ flu for the US, only in the last few decades, and, should be looked at afresh as related to Jan/Feb international travel infectious routes. Without H1N1 annual epidemic, accepting that H1N1 is causative to 50% or more of annual flu deaths, ‘normal’ flu would be in the range of 10-20k deaths a year. And realistically less, as some of the very elderly can’t stand even a minimal strain to their aged immune systems.

Right now, America is laying siege to an enemy. An enemy that needs living bodies to reproduce. Our siege is buying time for scientists to win the war. Same as every war. Join the siege. Win the war.

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT - don’t take Fish chemicals

A press release from Banner Health, based in Arizona, said the husband and wife, both in their 60s, took an additive called chloroquine phosphate used to clean fish tanks, to try to prevent coronavirus.
Within half an hour, both needed to seek emergency medical care. The man later died.

First off here is a fact for you:

The majority of deaths have been in 4 countries, China, Italy, Spain, & Iran. They account for 13,367 of the 16,389 deaths reported. If you add in France and the U.S. that total rises to 14,772. If you add in Germany, South Korea, Switzerland, U.K., and the Netherlands it rises to 15,549 (all of these countries have a minimum of triple digit deaths reported).

That means only 840 deaths are spread among all the other countries reporting deaths from the CoVid-19. virus.

So the bulk of the deaths being reported occurred in just 11 countries.

No of course not, I was referring to the panic in this country. Has there even been panic generated in other countries that results in panic buying of goods? Listen, I am not saying that we take this lightly, but that the numbers so far do not justify panic. The panic here started way before we knew even very much about this virus, but that didn't stop the press from making hay with it right out of the starting gate.

For all we know doctors and other health professions may have died from the flu, but without reporting it, most would never know about it. So your statements are nothing more than conjecture. If you can find some hard evidence then I will give your argument more credibility.

What does CoVid-19 care about? Seems like compromised immune systems. I've heard strain L of the CoVid-19 spreads more rapidly and kills more, but with all cases of CoVid-19 lumped together it may be hard to tell if there is any basis to that or not.

Again, until autopsies are performed we cannot be certain that your claim that age and what your immune system is does not matter to CoVid-19, cannot be verified, at least I find no site that provides that kind of information. There was a 21 year old coach that had CoVid-19 and died. Upon completion of his autopsy it was found that he had leukemia, apparently unbeknownst to even him.

I am all in, in joining the war, but then again I am not being financially impacted, by either the falling stock market or my job being taken away suddenly (at least not yet). I'm not a wealthy man by any means, but I work remotely, so I have the best of situations. But many do not, and I am concerned for their well being just as I am concerned for my well being. But again the numbers, even world wide do not justify panic. I think President Trump has been making the right decisions all along. He stopped all flights from China of foreign people who are not citizens, not really fair to not allow Americans to return home, and the press howled and called him a racist xenophobe, while at the same time pressing the case that this virus was serious, and he was not being serious enough.

But how long can this country continue to destroy the economy? I think that we have sometime to afford our scientists to work on lifesaving drugs. I also think that evidence is pretty strong that we already have weapons in our arsenal that can be used to combat this viral attack. Dr. Fauci and others need to fast track these options. We could run tests on those mostly likely not to survive without some assistance, and if the outcomes look as promising as some say they are, we need to act. Business as usual can not be the order of the day for these times. For time is of the essence, and it is rapidly running out, if we are to recover economically.
