The L strain appeared in China towards the end of the ramp up. It is thought that it was a early mutation—and the reason there was reports of reinfection.

This strain seems to be the one that was dropping people in the streets over there.

The L strain is thought to have been transmitted from Wuhan to Iran directly. Not sure how it got to Italy, but there was a large Chinese presence in Milan., it could have come from the 5 million folks bugging out of Wuhan right before the shut down.

The L strain appears to be both more contagious, but also more “damaging.”

The S strain is less lethal. That is what is in South Korea, and the west coast.

I don’t know where they got their variant codes.

I remember that S gets you sick. L is lethal. Or Lasagna. My mnemonic.

I knew there were 2 strains of the virus, however, I did not know that one was more infectious acting and deadly. If that is the case all of these places need to change their charts and track each strain separately to get better numbers to track these things.

We need to build special facilities that house just CoVid-19 patients, in various localities across the country, and house the 2 strains separately, as well. That would help to assure that other facilities would be available to tend to other illnesses. It would also ensure that the virus would not spread to patients with other ailments.

I still cannot determine why they would target Iran or Italy though. I thought Iran were like compatriots to the Chinese. Italy welcomes in the Chinese with open arms even though they have wrecked their specialty fabrics industries and put many Italians out of work due to the fact that the Chinese made products, still carrying made in Italy labels, are being produced at lower costs then sold at lower prices because of cheap Chinese labor by many Chinese who are in the country illegally.
