Theres an old joke, I cant remember it well enough to do anything but paraphrase, basically, that learning doesnt progress because new information arises and everyone integrates it into their own learning/teaching, but because the opponents gradually die off.
I’m 81, and my wife is close to 80.

She laughs about how I began to eliminate the losers/idiots in my life at 40 and had basically finished that task at age 50. Then, I took early retirement at age 56 and finished up ridding the losers in my company and customers. That wasn’t just people. I eliminated most tv, movies, magazines.
We cut our tv cable 3 years ago.
