I know you are talking about Gibson, but I still cringe when I see about THe Passion of Christ.
“Passion” was a movie I had to see...until I saw it. Then I didn't want to see it anymore.
I had a tough time suspending disbelief, so when they whipped Christ, I jumped\winced in my seat every time the lash fell.

Lone Survivor was another movie I had to see until I saw it. Then I wished I hadn't.
