I don’t follow celebrities, but I paid a little bit of attention to info about Mel Gibson after I saw “Passion”. It seemed as though making the film led him to become more religious, but then he left his wife, with whom he had numerous children, and began shacking up with someone — model or actress, I think — and had a child with her. It was very disappointing.
I did a very brief search when his name came up here again recently. Hoped to see that he had gone back to his wife, but, unfortunately, he is instead shacked up with yet another bimbo, and I think they are expecting or have had a child.

I agree with your entire analysis.
The Trump information wing has adopted the phrase: "Trump is a wartime President," which we have been saying on this thread for a week or so.
This begs the questions:
1) With whom are we at war? (Who is the "Invisible enemy; because if we are at war, the VIRUS IS A WEAPON, not a foe.)
2) Whom will be counterattacked and by what USA forces? (after the defensive measures are in place such as enforced social distancing, buttressing healthcare infrastructure and economic packages)

This is NOT a statement directed at SEC Pompeo, if that is what is being contended by the original poster.
Not buying it if so.

In a previous briefing POTUS said- “WE know where it came from, and THEY know where it came from.
So, it looks like either SEC Pompeo is saying China was conducting a live exercise and the COVID19 got released into the environment, OR- the United State’s RESPONSE to the COVID19 is the live exercise, which is at the least, a very odd thing to say about OUR response.
Whether this was an accident or an intentional act (of war) remains to be seen.
Intentional, or unintentional, it is having the same effect. China owns it, and must pay an extreme price for the act. PERIOD!

I don’t think it is fruitless to compare leaders. Just hazardous. I still believe that the complexities & weighty issues & peoples on Trump’s shoulders is orders of magnitude greater than any other leader—certainly of the USA—but really of any country in any era. e.g. The weight of the whole world has to be weightier than even one’s own country alone.
