There are two sides of the surgical mask which are white and blue (or white/green).
The white side contains filter. Therefore, if you have flu, it should be attached to your face so that the blue side faces out to prevent the germs from spreading outwards. If you are not ill, the white side should be facing out to protect micro-organism from the environment to come into contact with you.

If everybody knows this and follows this rule, it would be easy for the rest of us to know who might have flu/corona virus.
And you hope you can trust others to know the right way to wear a (surgical) mask, if it comes to that.
Everyone knows a politician requires 2 masks, one for each face.
Tragically the idiots in charge only say the masks will not protect you while at the same time say they need them for the frontlines in the hospitals.
So glad I don’t trust any government. I trust myself and family.
Thanks. I’ve had medical training and don’t remember being told that. Now let’s see if I can remember)
Blue out, I have the blues.
Search for it ("does side of mask matter") and you will see all different ways to wear masks.
Colored side out, colored side in, or it doesn't matter because the filter works in either direction.
Some say the blue side is liquid proof.
Some masks are white on both sides.
Good Luck.
Just like underwear, turn it inside out the next day.
The 2 sides of this box of n95 is white in and out and form fitting, guess if I wear it others will have to guess if I am containing or transmitting
So true.
Finally, good advice I can put immediate use, thank you very much.
Would Scotch Guard help on those? To keep water droplets out?
Thanks, MB. Good to know, bro.
