Not very many in my age group know how to sew/embroider/etc.

She’s seen some of the stuff I’ve made and wants to learn.

Right now it’s cheaper to buy most clothes but she wants ‘unique’ stuff that only she has and has embellished/designed. She’s a creative young lady.

PUBLISHED MAR 20, 2020 AT 12:36 PM | UPDATED MAR 20, 2020 AT 12:55 PM
Officials this week said a 71-year-old Marrero woman was the first Jefferson Parish resident to die from the new coronavirus causing a global pandemic.

Marjorie “Margie” Phillips, of the Westminster Park subdivision, died Wednesday.
...
Lee said he doesn’t know exactly how Phillips became sick. Citing information he gathered, Lee said Phillips didn’t have any notable travel out of the area before falling ill, and loved ones suspect she contracted the illness locally around Mardi Gras.

Experts have said COVID-19 diagnosis statistics suggest the virus was spreading in the New Orleans metro area around that time undetected.

That’s my go to as well.

She’s sort of familiar with mine so I’m going to get her one as close to it as I can.

There’s a sewing machine store not far from us, so going to give them the business.

That’s a really great idea...to buy local.

We’re getting SO many emails, from area restaurants, saying they’re now delivering, offering curbside pick up....15% off, 50% off bottles of wine.

Freaky.

The sad part that is in China, they think that is normal, and don’t notice for months if someone is missing. In western China it is considered normal to lose friends. My friends in Guangxi are different from the ones in Guangzhou in this regard.

Also, unlike the US, in China most people stay in close contact with their classmates all of their lives (for the most part).

I moved away from my hometown 40 years ago - in China your hometown is your identity.

Big column in the NY Post today about that. People going out to the end of Long Island, LOL, thinking they will somehow be safe near the ocean breeze. One inadequate hospital. They can be locked down out there as well. Everybody just observe the protocols and count to ten.

Fauci has a logical mind. He has a scientific mind. Just do what he says. He showed that little list of the protocols several times. We are so lucky to have him as well as the others!

I actually saw some crocheted masks....they obviously had an insert and/or lining, of some sort.

The earpieces were perfect!

They’ll be trapped, at the end of the island. :-(

Friends of ours left LI, a few days ago. Going out of state, to stay with family.

“Friends of ours left LI, a few days ago. Going out of state, to stay with family.”

Not responsible behavior.

Shelter in place.

Depends on the size needle :)

My MIL knits and crochets. She showed me how to crochet but knitting is probably left too late for me at my age. I barely manage to control the ‘one’ hook with crochet. Making 2 behave with knitting sounds like it involves an IQ higher than mine...

Just have to break the transmission chains long enough to get enough doses of those drugs for whatever happens next...
