Has anyone heard any rumblings about a lock down in Houston? I just got a phone call from my sister who has a job affiliated with the Fed. They were given "travelling" papers, if you will, earlier this week just in case. Tonight they were told to keep that letter with them at all times. I've seen the letter.
I know it sounds paranoid, but I was asked about a lock down from someone at work.
It reminds me of this line: The Baroness: You're far away. Where are you?
Captain von Trapp: In a world that's disappearing, I'm afraid.
Watch your local news.
There’s rumors everywhere.
I hope it’s just a rumor. I was gonna go to Spec’s tomorrow... that’s the only way I can survive this and Carolina’s IC, is horrid.
I live in houston and have not heard this, just another rumor
THen there’s this from the Washington Examiner

No indication on local Houston news.
heard the rumor
28 year old judge hidalgo is crazy enough to do it
has she ever even lived in Houston through a hurricane?
Similar letters have popped up in Washington State. Two things. Either there will be a national lockdown, or area lockdowns....or just preparation in case the country needs to do such a thing.
I was out and about in Alief today. I haven’t heard any such rumors. Walmart was business as usual, Kroger, too.
Here in Humboldt county California they’ve ordered us to shelter in place. I guess that beats mandatory evacuation.
ff
Seeing several state/city ‘lock downs’ on Twitter.
No official word.
We will drive 40 miles to get good BBQ or hamburger...many times further.
And when we a low on beer?
letters are being issued for sure. authorization to (purchase, must pay for) fuel! no less.
this stuff was wargamed/modeled out long ago and they are getting to put it into play now.
there have been multiple posts here on the daily threads about odd military transports where they normally aren’t etc. dod has been deploying assets as per the domestic epidemic playbook for weeks, I believe.
They’re letters of transit signed by General DeGaulle.
Cannot be rescinded, not even questioned.
Methinks she is Harris Countys version of AOC, but Judge Hidalgo wields real power ...
Look it up on your phone.
The only place I didn’t check before i posted was the Chronicle.
I’m surprised Houston hasn’t banned the sell of firearms and ammo yet. It seems like something Turner would get behind.

Some of the top elected officials in Houston made clear on a conference call with Mayor Sylvester Turner on Wednesday that they agreed with him in resisting a complete lockdown of the city like has happened in the San Francisco Bay Area.
...Turner on Tuesday was already making clear he would not impose a shelter-in-place approach. There will be no shelter in place for the city, he said.
On Thursday in a separate meeting with U.S. Rep. Michael McCaul, who represents northwest Harris County and Katy, the idea of a shutdown came up again. McCaul said Turner may not be ready to take such a step, but assured him that they have a contingency plan ready if that is actually needed.
Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo has not ruled out the possibility in Harris County...
