Mormon beliefs are not remotely Christian.DUDE YOU HAVE MULTIPLE GODS!
Alas, the biblical character you remind me most of is
Remember, Christ has said
Really teppe, think about this...Why would I believe anything about spiritual truth, spoken by someone in a cult, wearing magic underwear, who believes there are multiple gods that have sex in heaven to create souls?????
Since none of that is biblical and can never save, yet you believe it and swallow it wholeheartedly, why would anyone interested in truth believe your other opinions?
Only Christ himself, can declare who is worthy of his salvation.
Again, if you knew the Scriptures, you would know that NO ONE IS WORTHY.No one understands Christianity in its perfection
I have received my personal revelation from God years agoThis is just a logical fallacy, disguised as a rationale for what you believe.
You can believe it. I certainly will never trade truth for the Smith lie.
That really is the problem. Mormon beliefs are not based on objective truth, but on feelings, dreams, etc. It's a nice way to avoid Scripture. No one enters a cult for rational reasons and no one leaves a cult for rational reasons
As I said earlier, if you seek truth a teacher will appear. Until then, you are in a cult that has you wearing magic underwear and believing more than one god can be sovereign.
But these only show up in the THIRD book of Mormon Scripture: The Doctrines and Covenants...
According to that which was ordained in the midst of the Council of the Eternal God of all other gods before this world was, that should be reserved unto the finishing and the end thereof, when every man shall enter into his eternal presence and into his immortal rest. (Section 121:32) And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife, and make a covenant with her for time and for all eternity, if that covenant is not by me or by my word, which is my law, and is not sealed by the Holy Spirit of promise, through him whom I have anointed and appointed unto this power, then it is not valid neither of force when they are out of the world, because they are not joined by me, saith the Lord, neither by my word; when they are out of the world it cannot be received there, because the angels and the gods are appointed there, by whom they cannot pass; they cannot, therefore, inherit my glory; for my house is a house of order, saith the Lord God. And again, verily I say unto you, if a man marry a wife by my word, which is my law, and by the new and everlasting covenant, and it is sealed unto them by the Holy Spirit of promise, by him who is anointed, unto whom I have appointed this power and the keys of this priesthood; and it shall be said unto them--Ye shall come forth in the first resurrection; and if it be after the first resurrection, in the next resurrection; and shall inherit thrones, kingdoms, principalities, and powers, dominions, all heights and depths--then shall it be written in the Lamb's Book of Life, that he shall commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, and if ye abide in my covenant, and commit no murder whereby to shed innocent blood, it shall be done unto them in all things whatsoever my servant hath put upon them, in time, and through all eternity; and shall be of full force when they are out of the world; and they shall pass by the angels, and the gods, which are set there, to their exaltation and glory in all things, as hath been sealed upon their heads, which glory shall be a fulness and a continuation of the seeds forever and ever. Then shall they be gods, because they have no end; therefore shall they be from everlasting to everlasting, because they continue; then shall they be above all, because all things are subject unto them. Then shall they be gods, because they have all power, and the angels are subject unto them. (Section 132:18-20) Abraham received concubines, and they bore him children; and it was accounted unto him for righteousness, because they were given unto him, and he abode in my law; as Isaac also and Jacob did none other things than that which they were commanded; and because they did none other things than that which they were commanded, they have entered into their exaltation, according to the promises, and sit upon thrones, and are not angels but are gods. (Section 132:37) |
“Mormon beliefs are not remotely Christian.”
Why no reference to this statement being one of your humble opinion?
You have been around here for almost a couple of decades preaching your sermons. Maybe it’s time to let it rest for a bit and not be so sure of yourself. You can be just as wrong as the next guy or gal. The Holy Spirit doesn’t speak with forked tongue. As you are well aware their is another voice that speaks as if he was God, and none of us want to listen to that voice or influence.
I would suggest to JimRob to stop tolerating the people and religion bashing that has gone on far too long on the various anti-religion threads. Biblical Christianity speaks against such things and says we should treat one another as we would desire to be treated, to love one another and forgive one another our faults if we truly desire to be forgiven of our own.
Follow up from the mouth of the Lord:
Matt. Ch. 5
43 Ye have heard that it hath been said, Thou shalt love thy neighbor, and hate thine enemy.
44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;
45 That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.
46 For if ye love them which love you, what reward have ye? do not even the publicans the same?
47 And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? do not even the publicans so?
48 Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect.
If I was talking to myself I might be motivated to say to myself, “Self, what do you think of what you said about Chuck and Nancy just this morning, not to mention the expletives undeleleted in regards to your friends in the Congress called democrats”. Yep there are motes everywhere but they start with our own.
We are now at a point in history where believers appear about to be bigger underdogs world wide then we have been heretofore and if we chose to be at odds one with another, we further undermine our strength as believers in the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ regardless of denomination, and Christian or otherwise.
The debate might be over, but as long as I live and have ears to hear and eyes to see, they will be used for that which they have been designed.
