Thread #18 is here:

A cytokine storm seems to be a substantive lethal factor, however, in all fairness- I have no supporting figures involving percentages with regards to mortality.
Amen.
The red pilling of our citizens, with regards to our vulnerability, due to ridiculous and irresponsible foreign manufacturing dependency, is one strongly definitive / positive... to come out of this pandemic.
After more thought, maybe one of the issues wrt how we handle this virus is the idea that our insurance companies can’t handle the payouts associated with hundreds or thousands of multiweek ICU ‘trips’ by patients with this.
we personally don’t fancy a million dollar ICU bill should my hubby get this...
Yeah, thanks!
My wife doesn’t understand why I want to stay @ Mom’s & minimize my part of the care as little as possible, leaving most of it to her doesn’t-drive live-in sitter, who CAN stay on the property, but, it’s all about reducing the viral load Mom might see if I get infected but don’t show symptoms. SOMEONE has to get & deliver the supplies, maintain the place, etc., but that someone also has to minimize the risks as much as practical. It’s hard on the sitter (less nights off and Mom has incontinence problems), but it also reduces the risk to the sitter, too, and the sitter is 67...
“I think theyve all seen my earlier post that Ive been to the liquor store and are just laying for me... LOL!”
Even those who have quite drinkin’ are drinkin’ on the eve of the beginning of the end of the world.
“Wondering if theyre heading to NY.”
they better be.
NYC is gonna blow.
D1:
The day of fevers and exhaustion...Shivers and sweats were the story of the day. That and being utterly exhausted, with whole-body ache...No appetite at all... cough started in the afternoon, Not a bad cough, and not productive. But just there every now and again to remind me that my lungs were also not happy.
D2:
No energy. Horizontal is the position to be in...Sweats/shivers ongoing, but not as bad as yesterday. Cough more noticeable but not a big issue....Intermittent headache started. Whole body still aches, and feeling weak. Zero appetite.
D3:
Feeling worse. Headache and fatigue worse..Cough less frequent. Appetite improving but far from normal....another day of frequent naps & predominantly horizontal state.
D4:
Ongoing fatigue and reduced appetite...Cough very infrequent now. Headaches still present, but improving...Whole body still aches. Functionally pretty useless. Would quite like to feel better.
D5:
Still pretty tired....No headaches any more. Appetite up to 1/2 or 2/3 of normal..Still no desire to leave the bed/sofa, let alone the house, which is fortunate since I still have 2 days of self-isolation to go.
D6:
Feeling a little better...Or, thought I was, but then fell asleep on the sofa for an hour. So fatigue ongoing, and lacking energy...Still no desire to leave the house.
Hoping tomorrow will bring much more energy
That is as far as I have made it (so far).
My recollection is easily a million dollars a month, maybe more, in the larger cities. My first hand experience was about $250,000 for a week’s stay in a minor populated city’s hospital in the 125,000 population range.
A thousand patients a month, and it’s one billion dollars in costs or more.
No matter how we square this virus, it’s bad news.
Ya, I ran those sorts of numbers too.
My BIL got one of those million dollar ICU bills. Was only in his 30’s too. IIRC he’s still paying some of that every month.
Hubby and I have been saying that, for a week.
:-(
I wonder how many people have fled NY/NYC.
FOX’s chryon states: The WHO COVID19 tests are unreliable.
Yep...I imagine POTUS & Co have baked those numbers in to the stimulus equations, somehow.
:-(
At least he’s at home. :-)
A Churchillian quote comes to mind...
But anyway, just wanted to point out the influence of temp upon the virus.
What the heck is THAT supposed to mean??
Are those the tests we’re using??
Here is the Imperial College study if anyone wants to read it:
No, I read the articles you posted to me. Evidently you only screened them. My college years of chemistry were long ago, but I also used to sell scientific equipment.
Your post was a gross oversimplification of scientific data.
Fauci says it’ll be weeks before we see the effects of following coronavirus guidelines
Exactly.
And how are you? If I remember correctly you found a bottle after years of sobriety.
Im starting to drink more these days also.
Thinking about all of the people that have no one to attend to them...
Then the acutely homeless problem...
And the people living in their vehicles...
The red pilling continues, in regards to all of the children that receive breakfast meals, lunch meals, and weekend meals... from their schools. What an absolute national disgrace by a population of chronically irresponsible breeders.
