I read that here as I was driving today - I get the emotions of it, but elected officials need to have that stiff upper lip in times like this.

My theory - pretty much everyone by now is breathing the virus, every day, at least if they interact with multiple people. But our tolerance levels vary greatly, and obviously many of those in a nursing home are about as low as possible. So they get a viral load that would easily get fought off by a healthy but person cannot be fought off by these people. Likewise, lots of healthy doctors get the virus because they’re getting huge viral loads at hospitals, and enough even gets around decent protective gear.
Hunker down. Starve the Wuhan Virus!

Any enclosed space will just keep circulating and recirculating the virus, whether it is an airplane, a ship, a nursing home, a hospital, etc.
In the case of a hospital, the staff puts on all their gear, safely interacts with the patients, then takes off their gear to snack and drink coffee in the lunch room.
They get infected _there_.

Or with a totally disastrous cruise, due to port closings, as in the Norwegian Jade’s Asian cruise starting Feb 6 (the one that I skipped out on, thank God). But since (apparently) no one was infected on that cruise, it’s not on that list.

You are correct. Proof is the cruise ships and the nursing homes.
I’ve had my HVAC off for about a month now. Down here in Georgia, it’s warming up but still gets cold on some days.
That’s when I put on more clothes. I don’t want the virus sucked in from my neighbors - who are still going to work everyday! - and taking up residence in my AC filters and vents, etc.
