Let’s pretend there was no coronavirus and this was not hand sanitizer. Let’s just assume that he was, in normal times, illegally selling any routine product on the black market.
Should he be charged? Arrested and his product confiscated? Of course. No question.
So now that the situation is so much worse. Far worse; why is anyone upset that authorities took the logical and prudent action that they did?
What’s logical and prudent about it. What’s illegal about selling a product on Amazon (or, as you call it, the black market). Folks can choose to buy or not. Nobody’s forcing them to do one or the other.
If the market runs out of .22 cal ammo and my neighbor has 500k rounds, can the ‘authorities’ raid his home?

If it is a routine, legal product, it is legal to sell it.
No black market for legal products.

That’s a horrible analogy.
In the United States of America, there is no “Black Market” in goods purchased from retailers with appropriate taxes paid.
