Is it time to panic? NO.
This document is trying to help you to understand the situation at hand and not to terrify you. We want to make sure you understand the facts and understand what is at stake. This is a Pearl Harbor moment for our country. We are facing a real threat and we need to face it with all of our resources. When people decry the seriousness of this moment they are steering our country off a cliff, we need everyone to understand that this is important and if we work together to slow the spread we will get through this as we are learning from Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, and China.
The effectiveness of our healthcare system to deal with a sudden tsunami of respiratory illness is what is at risk. If our healthcare system buckles under the strain of tens of thousands of patients then we could be looking at a catastrophe.

This is not the type of mortality rate we bring the global economy to a grinding halt about.
Saddened how?
Of course they can spread it...and survive it and build up their immune systems doing it...as I’ve said elsewhere. ..I’m more concerned about the Flu
FYI...
Dr. Anthony Fauci urges ‘national shutdown’ as coronavirus spreads

Still waiting to your answer on H1N1.
We have better sanitary conditions - except Iran.
We have better medical care for those who have a serious case.
We have governments trying to flatten the curve of potential infected persons.
By realizing their doom/gloom never materialized.
Thanks for the post bump doc!
Thanks for another post bump doc!
“This is a Pearl Harbor moment for our country.”
Uh...no it isn’t, Dr. Nitwit.
So you’ve decided to go away from name-calling then?
Thanks doctor. My doctor husband became a better doctor when he had a patient with bilateral shingles.
Ever after he was skeptical about the hooves approach.
Helpful article, but not one mention of the elephant in the room.
Asians, especially Asian males, are genetically more susceptible to Coronaviruses than other races (https://www.biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/2020.01.26.919985v1)
When all is said and done, this will be slightly worse than the SARS scare of 2003. The majority of deaths will be elderly Asian males.
SARS was discovered in January 2003 and was over in six months (gee, I wonder when summer started in 2003?)
By June, July at the latest, I suspect we will see it rapidly fade away. Recurrence in the colder weather after summer is unlikely, because it doesn’t incubate over a long enough time period for a significant number of un-quarantined, active cases to be out in the wild.
H1N1 and Covid-19 are different. What else is there to say? Can’t compare them.
But thanks for another GLORIOUS bump doc! (are you really a doc? You sure don’t act and control yourself like the MD’s I’m used to dealing with)
The fact that you, as a self-described gas exclusive doctor, and the doctors associated with this article disagree leads me to believe that not all doctors agree! Therefore, somebody’s not got their crap right. Could it be you Mr.Gas doctor?
BTW, your name fits your behavior perfectly.
My title is not Mr. it is Doctor. Gas_dr is a tribute to my training as an anesthesiologist. I am board certified in critical care medicine as well. I wait your learned, data driven response on the respirational system. Seems like you don't respond because you cannot. Please, enlighten me. And if you are going to call me names, please try harder. That was pretty lame.
You said that H1N1 was not respirationally severe — you are completely incorrect. I treated H1N1, and I assure you it was awful from a pulmonary standpoint. I am glad to keep bumping this to expose your ignorance.
Nope — you still are an ignorant ass
And he’s proving it with his haughty posts
How about the H1N1, yes they are different one in influenza and one is corona but respirationally severity — show me the data or experience you boldly proclaim. According to you it is not as respiratioanlly severe...awaiting your data.
