Personally I doubt a lot of those flu death numbers. I think there is massive medical facility infection; over-prescription of multiple, conflicting drugs; plain old malpractice and institutional neglect; and death of unknown cause among the elderly that go into those flu totals.
They just give a very wide range for flu deaths. I have not trusted them on that matter for years. I often get the annual flu shot, though never see a difference either way when I don’t.

I don’t doubt the numbers, but I agree with you on the rest. For the longest time, they figured a mask and gloves would protect them...but that doesn’t work when the environment is saturated with virons, some, many, will get through.
At least some of these flu deaths are from complications, IMO. A bacterial pneumonia that takes advantage of the flu, for example.
