A prepping peak hurts retail supply just as a case peak hurts the healthcare system.

I subscribe to a different take on this. Preppers know that when a disaster strikes it is too late. Prepping before a disaster does not damage the supply chain. Hoarding afterwards does.

I still don't get the toilet paper thing.

Yeah, the TP craze is unfathomable to me.

Those who prepared in the last month helped themselves, and everyone else too. I guess there’s another week or so that most people will be able to prepare. After that it’s catch as catch can.

And after that there won’t be such a divide between ‘flu bros and doomsters’.
We have a month of terrible news about ‘new’ cases ahead of us.

I would be interested to compare to other countries. Australia does have a toilet paper issue

Observing while in Coscto most Caucasions could care less about rice..but rice helps your meal go much farther.

”I still don't get the toilet paper thing.”

I am convinced that it is because when the SHTF in Venezuela a while back the last straw was when they ran out of toilet paper. And every American made a mental note of that.

It is the same as hurricane panic.
They go buy 20 loaves of bread and 5 gallons of milk, but don’t remember to buy peanut butter. Forgetting that when the power goes out that will all spoil. On top of that they won’t eat sandwiches and drink milk.
Mind you these are the same people that have a 6 pack of beer or soda in the fridge and maybe some cheese. They are lucky if they have a roll of toilet paper in the house.
