No. Warm weather hasn’t slowed this down in the southern hemisphere. Aggressive containment or absolutely no useful medical infrastructure are responsible for the numbers you see.
Singapore and Australia have been aggressive containers. Africa and even South America are simply not dealing with it as they haven’t got the infrastructure.
Mexico and Central America are rife with it but have no medical means to cope or report and that is where the third wave of infection in the US is coming from.
China is lying about it, as is Iran. Their death tolls are significantly higher.
The rest of Europe will crash, like Italy - large parts of it. Aging population, socialized medicine, de facto death panels are inevitable there. France already surrendered; it’s only a matter of time.
We will be fine as long as we focus enough resources on hotspots. Stupid stuff like hiding it (MA) puts everybody at risk. There needs to be consequences.

Alaska got it’s first virus patient yesterday and it’s second one today. The Metlakatla high school boys and girls basketball teams went to a tournament in Juneau. For some reason one of the players was checked for the virus and found to be positive. The teams are headed back to the tiny clinic in Metlakatla on Annette Island in Southeast ALaska. They are fairly certain that there’s been further transmission of the virus within the group. I don’t think Anchorage knows about this yet.

Utah just closed ALL their schools for two weeks starting today, and then they will look at the situation and see if there needs to be another two weeks, in the meantime, teachers will be doing assignments online, as they have all year, and we will have 2 hours of ‘grab and go’ lunches for kids that can’t afford lunch...
Kids are not allowed to play with other kids, they are to stay home, nursery schools are being evaluated will have a decision by Monday...

Trump would be doing what he has done for a bad flu.
Remember that even in his preliminary 2015 campaign events Trump’s immigration control plans included medical facilities with quarantine facilities interspersed along the borders.
Trump’s mother came in through Ellis Island (which was operational at the time) when she immigrated to the United States. President Trump has always promoted Quarantine as a tool that is sometimes needed. Chances are fairly high that with some effort you could dig up footage of him outlining that position filmed in the nineteen seventies.
Quarantine is one of Trump’s briar patches, and he is in a position to point out in the future that quarantine has always been part of his pandemic response plan.
