You’ve got one smart kiddo!
Congrats!

Thanks for your posts and links.
If we accept the premise of this paper, then we need to be concerned about the changes in our jet streams resulting from the solar minimum.
The jet streams have been very unpredictable the past couple of years and not the tight flows we have experienced during the last couple of generations.
Nullschool Upper Winds
This raises the hypothetical suspicion about the cyclical nature of worldwide disease spread.

I dont think well see unusual power outages, but I do think the normal ones will last just slightly longer I don't expect power outages either, nor do I expect interruptions in water service. I did stock up on charcoal and propane just in case, and filled up a bunch of gallon jugs I had laying around with filtered tap water. Even baked some bread over the weekend to get back in practice.

I visited our local Hy-Vee in a southwestern suburb of Minneapolis.
Toilet paper was completely wiped (no pun intended) out. The jugs of drinking and spring water were kinda decimated but available.
Canned foods (vegetables, baked beans, etc) showed signs of heavy shopping but there was ample stock. The cereal area (hot and cold) looked fine.
Didn’t see what the meds aisle was like. Should have though. I threatened to kill a guy over the last two boxes of Little Debbie Fudge Sticks.
OK, that really didn’t happen.
I was there at 9:15PM and it just didn’t look all that crazy.

I saw a tweet along these lines the other day, something about the worst outbreaks being around the 40 degree latitude
I just thought it was more of a lack of vitamin D/sunshine in winter.

Possible. The(even optimistic math) is very alarming.

I found the pool shock I’d bought a cpl years ago when we were threatened with another ‘cane.
I could use that if things got dodgy with the water supply.

That’s a very interesting paper.
Something to think about definitely.
I’d wondered about the vitamin D production too.
I’m keeping an eye on Iceland. They’re at 100+, steep rise this week.

Possible. In the past there may not have been herd immunity acquired by supplement intervention.
My wife was shocked when all the blood work for her patients came back deficient for D. She does smack her head when she gets home after recommending the patients supplement. They always ask if there is a Rx covered by insurance.
