“I have a playlist set up starting with a short cello suite by Bach. Otherwise pretty eclectic. Requests?”
Can’t go wrong with anything composed by Fucik.
But nobody calls it that.
Nobody calls it anything.
But EVERYBODY knows it.

Radio music slide:
Thank you all for tuning in and helping with the playlist last night.
Usually, I get tapped to host two shows a month: “It’s Classic” 6:30 to 9:00PM local time on Thursday and Street Beat, 12:35 (Following the Fish Report) to 2:30PM. When my Street Beat gig falls on a Friday I do my “Aloha Friday” program from my personal collection. Otherwise it is some variation of Classic Rock in the afternoon. I am doing a fill-in on Monday but the show will start at least a half hour late and follow a “Borough Business” discussion. I’ll probably play some Beach Boys.
“It’s Classic” is strictly long hair classical music. Our dedicated (And generous) local audience expects it and lets us know when we stray from that genre during that two and a half hours on Thursday evening. I sometimes do other evening programs that have an open format, but this one is specific. Violin, Cello, piano, even trumpet, but absolutely NO SAXOPHONES. So, if you didn’t hear your request last night, it is because it didn’t fit the program format or I just couldn’t find it in the library.
This is my community service volunteer gig. I am on the stations board of directors and I am one of the many volunteers who produce on-air content.
