It makes sense to me in a way. Plans will be debated, some good plans, some bad plans. They don’t want people panicking over the panic-producing plans that are only being discussed, and probably rejected.
They also don’t people reacting in such a way that it makes planning as a whole difficult, as with unnecessary hoarding just for example.
Probably other reasons as well. Use your imagination. Some plans may sound draconian—until we are faced with the alternative.

Summary: The Media has lie so much about Russia and Etc nobody believes the Media anymore. President Trump needs to tell them the virus is real.
Keep in mind that there were three worldwide sweeps of the 1918 Spanish Flu, not one, and that almost all the fatalities occurred during the second and third sweeps. Many areas suffered multiple smaller "pulses" of the 1918 Flu - some had four or five.

Ok I admit it could be the airport in Seattle also, since this is a common layover for flights from China.
But once they have a positive for flu, do they or will they run a second test for Coronavirus?

I bet they do not, emphasis on not creating panic still. Once they don masks and gloves, might as well have the uniforms and rifles, too.
I can’t imagine that they would wear MOPP level 4 protective gear. Though they probable should!

I showed him the Japanese doc’s advice, this morning.
I’d guess it depends on the doctor and how the illness progresses. A chest CT would look different for CV so an astute radiologist would pick up on that. I know of a group of police officers near me who are sick, 2 tested positive for the flu but the rest are just assumed to have the flu, one is in critical care.

We certainly don't know now whether CoVid-19 originated in a Chinese lab, whether as a result of bioweapon research or ordinary medical research. It may have. It may have instead started as an animal mutation without any human intervention. We can, however, absolutely, postively, count on the Chinese government doing everything possible to bury the orgins of CoVid-19 simply because it started in China.
And your credibility is still toast.
I have found it is impossible to reason with the It a flu crowd. I am trying.
I would "guess" that Isreal might try to pre-empt such a last-gasp measure by Iran.
