Time to stay calm and continue on....
Yesterday's thread is here:

"And what should each of us do, beyond staying informed and washing our hands frequently? "
Osterhelm WROTE that.
From the second article:
"For you and I, the CDC isnt recommending any precautions beyond the regular regimen we should follow to avoid getting sick, especially during flu season: staying healthy by getting flu shots, using preventative measures like washing hands and taking flu antivirals if theyre prescribed."
Osterhelm WROTE that.
So? So, nerdgirl, do you have a link to what you posted?

Wonder how many of these people post on Western social media as ‘flu bros’ to lessen our prepared response to this...
there was a poster yesterday who ‘misspelled’ flu as ‘flue’. Which is how foreigners (Asians) spell it.
Just a general question...
OK, we’re stopping all flights to and from Europe for 30 days - with the exception of the UK.
But what’s to stop a possibly infected individual from taking a flight from Rome to London and then transferring to a flight to the US?
Or for that matter, a guy catches an Iran Air flight out of Teheran to Munich and then transfers to a Lufthansa flight to New York?
How would we know this? Checking passports for recent stamps?
Coronavirus burial pits so vast theyre visible from space
AND that would be a headline from todays WaPost. I wont link to it, look it up on your phone.
I would think passports would be the key.
Ohhhh boy...
That's not really the point. People can always get here somehow, but Trump is trying to reduce the numbers. It simply means fewer potentially infected people coming.
Broad brush statement. And incorrect. Geesh.
YOu really like that ‘broad brush’ description.
I’ve lived in the US most of my life and have never met anyone ‘from’ here that spelled ‘flu’, ‘flue’.
Not one.
I have seen a LOT of foreigners spell it that way though.
Which immediately causes me to question an ‘American’ posting on this forum who spells it ‘flue’.
There are a LOT of program posters on social media.
It’s to the Chicom benefit if the general population in the US underestimates this. I’d fully expect them to ‘release the hounds’ of flubros to do so.
A Flue is something in a chimney.
Precisely.
It’s a suspicious misspelling.
One I’ve seen from Asians posting on twitter in particular.
I will work Japanese and other Asians on a weekly basis.
I’ve seen very few spell flu as flue.
You made a broad brush statement.
That happens on FR sometimes. I do it.
But expect to be challenged (politely) if you (or I) do.

It was mainly the chinese who ‘follow’ Jennifer on twitter.
It happened enough for me to remark it.
and I’ve never seen an American spell it that way.

I tink the graphic in nerdgirl’s post is where Osterholm is talking about the preventive measures.
Right now there is so much stacked up in Long Beach that supplies that are here are not expected to reach destination points until late April.
Finally, an indication that our nation is getting serious about containing the outbreak:

Coronavirus USA Update: COVID-19 Enters Senate, Staff Tests Positive
“On Wednesday, it was learned a staffer working for Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-WA, at her Washington D.C. office tested positive for “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2),” the disease that causes COVID-19.
Cantwells office said this woman staffer had no known contact with the senator or other lawmakers. Confirmation of the infection, however, led Sen. Cantwell to close her D.C. office for the remainder of the week.”
