Well, if ten times as many people have it as we think have it, it means the mortality rate is a lot lower than we think it is. That is great news!
A simple rule: You only test those with symptoms.
Absolutely. We are 4 months into this. It’s everywhere. And so far 31 have died in the US. I do not understand the panic.
Agreed. The CDC screwed Trump (and us) over and he let them do it.
That is an idiotic rule. By the time they show symptoms they have likely been infecting others for days and approximately half their lungs is already scarred.
No, that is not the case.
Aka, the Wuhan virus or bat flu. Bat flu from eating an infected bat.
Hah Chu. Identify the “super spreaders”. Lock them up.
So the tests would have stopped the spread? Riiight.
Do you understand exponential growth?
Also, how do you think other deaths could be attributed to it without testing?
The mortality rate is determined by the number of people who have symptoms, and who die from it. The mortality rate is always calculated this way.
There is no way to know the number that never report symptoms. For this disease or any other.
And so far 31 have died in the US. I do not understand the panic.
Rubbernecking is just human nature but the level of hysteria is because there isn’t a Democrat in the WH. Come November low info voters will think a million people died from Wu Flu.
The Five Stages of WuFlu
Denial:
- It is no worse than the flu
- Only Asians get it
- Our healthcare is just so much better
Anger:
- The CDC is blowing it
- Trump should have shut down all flights
- I cant believe they value stocks more than life
Bargaining:
- If I get five more rolls of toilet paper I will be okay
- Teleworking and online classes will keep us safe
- But I needed to complete my preps anyway
Depression:
- I cant believe things are this screwed up, its only getting worse
- Its no use, we are going to be just like Italy
- Dont talk to me, Coachella was the only bright spot in my life
Acceptance:
- Once you get it youll have immunity so there is that
- Sure its going to be rough for a while but things will work out, hopefully
- I sure miss (insert here) (grandma, grandpa, mom, dad, wife, husband, brother, sister, son, daughter, friend)
I do understand exponential growth. I also understand that cold and flu season ends in about 3 weeks.
Maybe I’ll change my mind in May or June. But for now, I think this thing is tremendously overblown.
It’s difficult to believe that this made any difference whatsoever. The virus was coming into the US from so may directions and into so many airports it was going to spread no matter what.
More so from eating pangolins and honey badgers which eat foot on which bat guano has fallen.
Yep, see South Korea.
OK, so in your world, CDC would have a stockpile of 330,000,000 expirable test kits already sitting in a warehouse for a disease that in December didn’t exist and that every American, symptomatic of not should be tested.
So then, say I got tested, proved negative then got symptoms six weeks later and Jeepers, they used all the test kits.
I’m also getting the idea that the test is not as simple as dipping a test strip in urine. I think it must need to be cultured for a while. Culture tests for 330,000,000 people would take countless labs and lab technicians that also don’t exist. Welcome to FearRepublic.com
