Former staffers for Elizabeth Warren have been taken to the woodshed over tattoos meant to memorialize her ill-fated campaign – which just happen to closely resemble markings given to Holocaust concentration camp prisoners. Oops!
Intending to commemorate the Democratic senator’s failed bid for the presidency, at least two former Warren staffers thought tattoos displaying the hex code for the campaign’s “Liberty Green” theme would be a clever tribute – until Twitter caught wind of it. In an avalanche of criticism, netizens wasted no time in pointing out the obvious – albeit accidental – reference to Nazi atrocities proudly displayed by the two ex-employees.
While the comparison should have been immediately clear to anyone who’d seen the design, perhaps the staffers could be forgiven for a simple oversight, not making the connection to the dark imagery the tattoos might evoke. But in addressing critics online, former Warren campaign design director Raquel Breternitz dispelled any notion of a lapse in judgement, noting she had “thought about” the association to concentration camps, and decided to go ahead anyway, placing the ink where “it wouldn’t be seen on the outer arm.”

There is the alternative of covering over the offending tattoo with a larger design of something else. That said I’m in the loathe tattoos camp.
It is the name that someone, somewhere has given to describe the patina on the Statue of Liberty.
It was the color chosen to represent the Warren campaign.

That’s darn close to my cat’s password to buy cat treats at Amazon. The cat will be very upset when he gets up at noon and learns this. I’d go out and play a round of golf to avoid the whining, but it’s raining virus outside.
I had to look it up. I searched hex code first, and found that it is a code for colors on web pages. It’s like the RGB (red-green-blue) value assigned to a color so that it can be matched.
Apparently, Warren’s campaign has a few colors associated with her signs, posters, lapel buttons, etc. One of them is called “liberty green”. It’s gotten some attention by her fans the same way Donald Trump’s red MAGA hats, posters, etc did for him.
The kiddos loved this liberty green so much that they put it into hex code as a tribute to her campaign.

Not many of us are even old enough to know what that is.
Biker gangs lay claim to gang tattoos regardless of whose skin the tattoo resides. Biker gangs use this method to remove gang tattoos. I understand that they have some other effective and thoroughly painful methods involving belt sanders, branding irons, and other tools.
I understand the Nazi numbers thing but what do those specific numbers/letters stand for?
