Hmmmm.....average mortality rate, for FL, so far...65 yo.
The problem with hospitals is that most of them are not designed for the necessary containment of an aerosol virus.
Some hospitals have wings that can handle it, but the rest of the hospital cannot.
However, imho many hospitals will be hit hard at the infrastructure level—receptionists, maintenance workers, technicians, nurses, pharmacists, bookkeeping are more likely to be infected from nonsymptomatic hospital visitors than other random folks in the community.
Bottom line: There will need to be new facilities created on a large scale to handle the epidemic.
Hospitals will be places that will be spreading the infection more than mitigating it.
Perth, Australia is 92 degrees today. That hasn’t helped them any.

The third case of COVID-19 has been confirmed in Minnesota.
The Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) said Tuesday an Anoka County resident in their 30s tested positive for the novel coronavirus disease.
The patient was likely exposed through contact with international travelers, according to MDH, and developed symptoms Feb. 28 before seeking health care on Monday when testing occurred.
MDH added that the patient is currently in the hospital in critical condition.
“German Chancellor Angela Merkel now saying that 60-70 percent of the population could be infected by #COVID19”
My wife and I are virtually isolated from others, and can hold out for months. So we plan to be in the 30 to 40 percent and not have to deal with the virus.
Never mind that....thats contracted rates.
65 yo average.
That’s a bingo!
Right there you nailed it.
Without massive shutdown now the rate continues.
The ONLY way to help the medical establishment take care of us is to slow the rate way down, so they can keep up
Great point
They are not going to die.
They might get sick.
And even if they die, the rest of the world moves on.
And you think Pelosi and McConnell are in any better shape?
That is not welcome news.
I haven’t known what to make of the Australian numbers, since they seem to keep repatriating their cruise infected.
Community spread at 92 is scary.
“There will need to be new facilities created on a large scale to handle the epidemic.”
IF this spreads unchecked, we will see tent triage and hospitals on military bases.
But who will staff them?
Does she mean the world or Germany?
Because Germany has a LOT of immigrants that will demand to be saved.
“Rep Matt Gaetz: More I’ve just been informed that my COVID-19 lab result was negative. In an abundance of caution, I will remain under self-quarantine at the advice of medical professionals through Thursday at 2pm. I continue to feel fine and show no symptoms.”
Expected. If he just shakes hands, or shares a shopping cart with a vector, he’ll be fine. If, on the other hand, he gets into a limo with him for 30 minutes, he’ll need to check his gold-plated Congressional insurance policy.
That must be the real Jing baby !

Ohio governor recommends indoor sports games be played without spectators. No response yet from NHL’s Columbus Ble Jackets, who are due to host Pittsburgh Thursday. The NBA’s Cleveland Cavaliers are on the road until March 24.
Have any of the lib groups, Bern or Crazy Joe gathering peeps contracted this virus?
I have been predicting a draft of medical professionals, including retired folks and med students, so they can be taken to new facilities, protected, and quarantined.
Everybody says “no way”, so far....
Lookner:
Philly press conference—first official positive case.
“The virus is circulating in Philadelphia now”.
