Probably..I know I had to wear armor when I went to conventions...my gosh you have to beat the men off at every turn! But I sonn realized half the men and women there were locals who “show up” for events as the pickings are plentiful.

Perhaps, but I also know that in the past they were getting people sick by not letting in enough fresh air (they were doing that to save fuel). So I’m not sure if I’d take them at their word. Also, for their air flow rates, for so many people, they’d need very large filters. Possible, but not cheap.

If a tidal wave is heading straight at you, is there any urgent need to know whether it was a natural event or a geo-engineered one?

Sometimes things are important but not urgent. :-)

Keep in mind that the DP had a lot of resources hyper-focused on it.

When we’re talking about the general public in a non-quarantined environment things will be completely different. All we can take from the DP experiment is that

*anybody can contract it

*it spreads very fast even among ‘quarantined’ people

*old people are hardest hit

*1% (7 of 705) died even with a whole country’s resources deployed to save them

Admittedly, this was still very early and no doubt the professionals will have adapted somewhat. But the people being blasé about this are a danger to the rest of us.
