So what I’m about to suggest is not born out of panic, but out of math and med and minding.Get ready to stay indoors for a prolonged period. The non-dictatorial part of the world won’t do nearly as well as China did. Their draconian measures were amazingly effective, but not reproducible. We’ve bought a freezer to add extra storage here in [edited location]. I’m stockpiled, and not going out anymore - at all. Even though we have yet to document a case, it’s floating around here, for sure. Being such an international city, it’s inevitable.
(Government likely has mismanaged kits and is suppressing actual cases. The corruption/dishonesty that pervades government = zero confidence in public statements.)
And if I get this disease, I’ll die. My auto-immune system will blow it up.

It costs nothing, since it’s all stuff you’d eat/use anyway. If I’m wrong (along with the epidemiologists), no big deal. But if I’m right, there will be a panic stage where the shelves are bare, potentially followed by a breakdown of supply chains, period. So they won’t be restocked, at least not nearly as efficiently as things work now.

And if it gets that bad, it’d be foolish to assume a stable electric grid. So, stocking up on frozen and refrigerated would be problematic.
