For those new to these threads, let me explain why Fauci’s comment rated a double ouch:
The virus has a latency period of a couple of weeks. That means _anyone_, repeat _anyone_, one more time _anyone_, could be a carrier and not know it.
They would then spread the disease at the airport, on the plane, at the destination airport, and throughout the destination location.
They could infect dozens of people who infects dozens more who could infect dozens more.
That is a _much_ bigger threat than some older folks catching the disease on _their_ trip.
You can be sick in the hospital with it and still test negative. Patient 0 had been sick for days and was still negative..AND it didnt show up on XRAY...AND they claim he could have been shedding that virus during that time based on XYZ( that I can’t remember)
Talking about it arriving in Washington, DC. Makes me think this may turn out to be a way of cleaning out the swamp. It’ll be interesting to see how many congresscritters get it.

latency period and infectious period are two different animals aren’t they? One would probably only be shedding immediately prior to symptoms - the viral load would have to build up. Shedding a few virus here and there isn’t going to infect many people. it’s shedding large loads so people get a large dose. At least I hope so
