The Bible nowhere says that you are closer to God sitting on your back porch catching some rays.

You may well be in some instances but that is not church. Church is specifically coming together for worship, under authority, hearing the preaching, praying and singing together, collecting, properly taking communion, bearing one another’s burdens and fellowshipping.

Now if hindered due to illness you are hindered. It’s not a sin to avoid church if medically indicated. Or perhaps you are in prison or a slave kept from leaving the house or any number of things.

I just speak to the notion that church is the wilderness or whatever. It isn’t.

It’s not a sin to avoid church under any conditions.

Believers are the church and where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there in their midst.

It’s a huge error to claim that the physical building means anything or that church can only be with a large group of other believers.

It’s not a *sin* to miss going to church on Sunday morning.

In light of the corona virus, skipping attending church on Sunday is wisdom, not something to be chastised as it does NOT affect your ultimate destination.
