worst case it would still slow the spread some..don’t want everyone getting sick at the same time...it would collapse the health care system...there are only so many ICU beds
You probably can protect the suburban areas/rural areas from the urban centers.
Then local containment will be easier in the areas outside the cities.
Quarantines are necessary because you need to buy time for the health care system...
Because the masses arent infected everywhere. It slows spread.

I think pretty much a quarantine would be to keep the mild cases at home and not in the ER waiting room. And bases are a good place to quarantine those who refuse to comply. Bases being federal and lethal force authorized should be enough to scare most people into staying parked at home. Leaving the everyday assholes as the only ones to be dealt with.
