I have no clue I just like the way it tastes. I do D3 - 5000 iu and vitatim K2 for repiratory issues, which I have a lot of.
Quinine is not good. I remember treating a case of malaria with it. You must take it around the clock at specified hours. It will upset your stomach, make you dizzy, halucinate, and do all sorts of other nasty things. It takes two weeks to get over taking it.
Of course, if you have malaria and don’t take (at that time; there are other treatments now), you could very well die.
I remember taking the stuff and getting very dizzy. At one point I lay down on our floor and held on trying not to fall off. Of course, I was on a flat solid floor and I couldn’t fall off. It just felt like I could.
Quinine is the tonic in “gin and tonic”. It is what makes tonic water “tonic”. At least, that is what it used to be. Chloriquine is in the quinine family. I understand it to be a synthetic quinine derivative. Note: I am not a pharmacist and could be wrong. This is just what we were told when we moved to a malaria area in 1995. FWIW, for many years, chloriquine was the recommended phrophalaxis against malaria. Many of us, my family included, stopped taking it for that purpose as we would develop malaria anyway. Chloroquine is not used here right now as the mosquitoes have developed a resistance to it. AFAIK, the drug of choice these days, in our area, is artemesin. Recommended drugs for anti-malarials change from area-to-area and from time-to-time as bugs develop resistance and as the paracite mutates and changes.

VP Pence is demonstrating his leadership abilities during this Corona virus crisis. He was Trump’s best administrative selection for many reasons. Our country would do very well with four more years of PDJT followed by 8 years with Pence at the helm.
