After reading todays thread I have decided I am going to go get more supplies

For a number of reasons including:

Buy them before Wuhan is coughed all over them

Buy them so I have to go out less

Buy them because people are going to panic as the numbers grow as tests become available and things might be hard to get

Buy them before people are quarantined all over the place and there are limited workers to make, ship , and stock the goods.

Buy them for my peace of mind that I have what I need for two months.

I highly doubt this just blows over in a week

And I dont want to catch this disease because we dont know the long term repercussions after you get well. I am not in my 20s

Going to call NCL about my Alaksa cruise tomorrow and see what they have to say. I am not going to get stuck on a ship from hell leaving from Seattle Washington.

Don’t get your hopes up. You’ll get port fees and excursion money back, plus any refund if the trip is several months or more out...that’s it. NCL stuck to the letter of the law when we canceled, and I don’t really blame them. They, like all the cruise lines, will be in Bankruptcy Court by this time next year, so they might as well hang on to whatever cash they still have.

You’re a bit late, but still ahead of 95% of the country. Two other reasons: having to wait in line with people of unknown health (or lack thereof), and having to deal with rationing. They go together.

But get moving! Not much time left before the panic does set in.

I won’t comment on your cruise plans other than to say that I would never get on a cruise ship even before this virus broke out!

I’ve already done all the buying.

So I’m sitting here all alone, watching my retirement 401K do down the tubes, washing my hands so much that they are chapped, and realizing that I will die in the next few weeks. Nothing I can do about it. I’m one with previous health conditions.

I guess my wonderful black lab will get the virus too and will have to be put down.

The worst thing is that I’ll never be able to spend all the money I set aside for retirement. I guess that runs in the family, as my father died suddenly at 65, and could never get the benefit of his pensions and SS.

Whatever...

When you get supplies, there have been some wonderful things I have learned from these threads.

You can try Costco and Walmart places and see if they have what you want.

If they don’t, try the hardware stores—people seem to overlook them.

Of course try your local grocery store and see if they have what you need.

For any missing items, try the smaller local grocery stores—particularly if they are in an exurb or rural area—they seem to be well stocked almost everywhere.

Here in the northeast we have a place called Ocean State Job Lot—discount on all sorts of items including food—and they were fully stocked with everything when I visited them last week.

Also, if you can shop during the day on a weekday—most people are working then.
