Would someone help me understand that if this virus is less virulent and has a lower lethality than the flu why I should be overly concerned?
Just let it run it course like the flu.....it will peak quickly and be forgotten by June....

Quick course—the guy is very pessimistic, but there is a lot of explanation of how the disease works...
Bottom line—spreads much more easily, kills more people—we hope, but don’t know for sure, that warm weather will kill it—he discusses the pros and cons on this topic in the second video.
“Would someone help me understand that if this virus is less virulent and has a lower lethality than the flu why I should be overly concerned?”
If they were true, then you should not be overly concerned, however, as well documented on many threads, both those claims are false.
I doubt this episode will be forgotten for a long time.

I tried telling the Mayor of Wuhan that and he shut down the city anyway. Then I called Bejing, Shanghai, etc. Nobody believed me. Destroying their economy over a tiny case of the sniffles!
It probably wont hurt you. You probably wont even get it.
The concern comes from the contagious nature...which is many times more than the flu.
The percent that get really sick is higher than the flu.
The death rate is at leastten times the normal influenza. AND the hospitals are pretty much full with flu patients. This thing comes in and overwhelms the existing system.
The bigger issue is how other countries have been extreme in their reaction, how it impacts schools and businesses. China says they are back to work there is little hard evidence that anything is moving. Cargo, not people.
The potential economic impact could be significant and last a couple of quarters.
This is not four horseman time. But the impact will be felt for a while.
off top of head - just the sheer number of concurrent cases may mean hospitals cannot accept even serious cases, and you end up with permanent harm (or death) from something that, given room in a hospital, should have been manageable.
also, why don’t you think this will be an annual/seasonal disease, like other corona viruses? non-govt. virologists and epidemiologists are saying exactly that. the implications of something like this every year are staggering.
Extensive reading of published research studies..many dozens most done in China and printed in esteemed journals such as the journal of virology ..journal of immunology etc..show this virus deranges the immune response from the get go..Although one may easily recover ..a reintroduction to this virus or a similar serotype results in often fatal immunopathology due to autoantibodies stimulating damaging cytokine response..100 percent fatality in test animals that were given wild virus after administration of spike vaccine..Its not the first infection that is up to 70 percent fatal..its the reinfection. And that’s what noone is being told in the press..that it’s the immune response that is at first unresponsive reluctant to make antibody to what it sees as ASCOR asialo orthomuccoinoid...and upon doing so sets up a sentry system of cytokine producing cells that cause extreme damage when the body is challenged with virus.
