I cringed when I saw the photo of them laying hands on him.... oh geez.

I like to think I don’t live in a left or right bubble....

Cringe? Why? They are praying and the hands-on is so very supportive and touching.

You worried about disease transmission?

They’re just praying.

God had a reason for creating us to have physical bodies and so physical touch is important and it unites us in a tangible and visible way.

:-)

“I cringed when I saw the photo of them laying hands on him.... oh geez.”

I cringe when people say they cringe at prayer. Like it or not, America wasn’t founded in any kind of “bubble”; it was founded by Christians, boldly, pure and simple. There are countries where that isn’t the case, so ...

FReegards Katya!

I too did not know what was your point about there being a photo of it. I get that about private prayer, but this is more like “laying on of hands.” It conveys official sanction and delegation/recognition of spiritual authority. More than a blessing it is a message to the faithful of official commission by spiritual authority; especially in ordaining pastors and commissioning foreign missionaries. It does not make Donald Trump spiritual in any way, though he receives this like it was a blessing.

I saw here on FR another photo of Trump being “laid hands on” by a bunch of preachers with members of the cabinet and VP present.

Found that other photo from July 2017.
We can’t have him get “hands laid on” by white preachers only.
