Its Trump for goodness sake... I could see Pence doing this with the prayer stuff.... but come on! I’m sorry, this looks more than a bit ludicrous. Lets not pretend Trump is of any particular religious stripe...
Regardless of whether he is honestly of a Christian bent, it is just good manners to honor the wishes of the group visiting the White House.
To refuse would have definitely been a negative slap-in-the-face to religious blacks and other evangelicals and a huge mistake politically.
That said, I believe in the power of prayer and so welcome anyone who will intercede on behalf of our president (regardless of party) and especially with one as great as President Trump.
Thank you for these inspiring photos. Is that Mike Lindell of My Pillow fame to the left to the teleprompter? He’s a mega MAGA fan. LOL
All that press but nothing in the media about this event. Scum bags.
Lets not pretend Trump is of any particular religious stripe...
President Trump is a Presbyterian who was raised in church and studied through Confirmation as a young teen. His pastor was Norman vincent Peal, the preacher who coined the idea of “Positive Thinking”. DHT has a Christian core and has failed at times as everyone has. He knows that he needs the prayers of the country in order to be effective as President. I admire his courage to accept the “physical” prayers.
Great pix! Terrific event and remarks. Thanks for the ping!
Not to name drop, but I know Deneen Borelli and Derrick Gradenigo, two of those who participated and who are shown in these photos. Good people, both of them. I can’t speak more highly of their integrity, humility, boldness, and clarity of thought.
One quality that is evident in President Trump is that he is absolutely fearless.
“I cringed when I saw the photo of them laying hands on him.... oh geez.”
I cringe when people say they cringe at prayer. Like it or not, America wasn’t founded in any kind of “bubble”; it was founded by Christians, boldly, pure and simple. There are countries where that isn’t the case, so ...
Only a matter of time before Flickr declares these photos “inappropriate” material since they show a racist white man and his slaves...
lol I don’t think the catholics would agree
I’m specifically referencing seeing the photo opp of Trump having hands laid on him in prayer... not the act itself.
But as some have noted... he probably needs this more than most (insert laughing emoji)
So did he say to them “Ah ain’t no ways tard!” while holding up his bottle of hot sauce?
Amen.
Diamond & Silk had to be just loving it! Good stuff 8^)

On that point, I agree with you. In a way, I don’t feel comfortable saying grace aloud in restaurants. It seems a bit Pharisaical to me.
The Amish have it right — pray silently. Matthew 6:6 - But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

POTUS looks like he was having a lot of fun at this event.
And that he loves all Americans from all walks of life and unabashedly shows it.
