WATCH: South Korea mobilizes its army to spray disinfectant in Daegu, a city at the center of the coronavirus outbreak, in an effort to stop the spread of the disease.

Do you generally catch flus. If not, you may just get a mild case of this new bug. Plus this new bug may be weakening day by day. Pray for this thing to burn itself out.
BREAKING: The Perth man being treated in Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital for coronavirus has passed away, making him the first Australian to die from the virus.
That is the main problem I have working with this virus. Length of quarantine.
CDC warns: Save respirator masks for health care workers (2/28/20)
Border Security Key to Curbing Coronavirus, Cuccinelli Says (2/28/20)
376 new coronavirus cases in South Korea
Another reason for prepping. Avoiding long lines with coughers and sneezers behind you. Dont do that at nite.
“voiding long lines with coughers and sneezers behind you.”
That is why I am stock up with food. You can also avoid restaurants where the workers do not wash their hands.
Rush is clearly wrong about the New Coronavirus being the common cold. You don’t put travel restrictions in place for the common cold. You certainly don’t quarantine 150 million people and stop major portions of your economy like China did for the common cold.
Good to see the schools getting out Italy, given CV.
Good to see attention being paid to borders.
Agree with the CDC that health care workers need the masks more. But hope that masks are available for the public in communities where there is community spread.
Not for nothing - the situation in Wuhan is VERY unusual.
No hand sanitizer at all.
Went to Wally World yesterday here in the NorCal Foothills...no hand santizer...didn’t look for masks...Lot of people, but not overcrowded like when the monthly check comes in...probably buzzing today. We are fine if we have to stay. Nice full pantry...our own water well...have a couple of masks that use disposible filters. Have plans from CDC for making own masks and have a boat load of material because we tie dye...
Our worry is the fair season. We are set to leave in a couple of weeks for our Spring run...either the fairs get cancelled, or no one shows up...Would rather stay home in that case than not make any money...because it costs a lot of money to get down there (To AZ)...
We will have to play in by ear. Can’t fret about something we can’t change. Our goal is to lie low up here in the hills and see what happens.
I am not dismissing this threat....I know that flu kills more people...The issue that concerns me...besides the economic issues, is reinfection. That is a bothersome issue...Being in our 60s and all of that with the usual problems people have in their 60s...
As for my advice to anyone...Keep Calm, Live Life, but be Smart.
This is NOT going to explode in the US!!
Well, we can’t predict the future...but what will happen is that cases of 10 here, 50 there, another 75 overthere will be pumped up to make it appear that it is everywhere. CoVid-19 has R0 of maybe 2 to maybe 4...whereas “normal” flu has an R0 of maybe 1. So imagine what you see with “normal” flu but expanded exponentially. Where one person spread it to another...there are two cases...But with Coronavirus, one person spread it to another and another and another and so forth...now there are five cases, instead of just two...rinse and repeat...
But the staff at a nursing home will show up, and work overtime to meet the need. Much more dedicated than regular staff.
And they would all go down with the ship.
Does Berkey filter work with river water? I live just below the mountains, have farms up river from me?
Having owned a Big Berkey for some 20 years, the answer is yes. There is another filter that you can get that is used in conjunction with the normal filters. This will filter out flourides and compounds used in farm spraying. I would advise to read the information on what the different types of Berkey filters actually filter and purchase accordingly.
I would also consider pre-filtering the water with a tee shirt as written elsewhere today...You know, you don’t want twigs and dirt clods in your water...
For added protection, you can also boil the water for ten minutes to kill all organisms...it won’t kill chemicals though...
But if you normally get your water out of the tap...just use that water. This is not the end of the world. Utilities will be in operation unless Covid-19 starts turning everyone into Zombies...then all bets are off and I would start using that river water...
But my best advice is read all tht you can (from different suppliers if need be) about how the different filters work and how to prime them, etc....
Would the doctor be willing to do a phone consult? Surely they understand the risks
Expensive upfront, but saves money in the long run I would think.
No hand sanitizer, but noticed that people are passing up Rubbing Alcohol. Ended up getting two bottles with 91 percent alcohol. Maybe a baggie with a micro fiber cloth soaked in the stuff. That would work in a pinch...
