2-3 days intubated in the initial hospital/transfer to Sacto, 5 days from transfer for CDC to test, report, and another 2 days to go public?
so, maybe a minimum of 20 days ago for infection? (mortality at 28 days avg?) So less than a week after the China nationals travel cutoff, which was lackadaisical for a week (as we saw/ heard).
Obviously the UCD patient can't talk. But he can't be an island, either. If this patient doesn't have any relatives who can tell us anything, what about an employer or landlord? Does he have a cellphone - can we do ping tracking? Is this person an illegal, migrant worker? or had contact with a person from a country that we hadn't yet added to the screen list the first week of Feb? Mystery Man.
re: President Trump presser
He said we had 15 cases, plus the rescues, for a total of 60. So I think that he was told about the UCD case and included that in the 15 count.
from NYT:
[the UCD case] brings the number of cases in the country to 60, including the 45 cases among Americans who were repatriated from Wuhan, China the epicenter of the outbreak and the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which was overwhelmed by the virus after it docked in Japan.
