My first thought on Trump’s most recent travel ban was that it might at least make it more difficult to bring the virus in.
During WWI the Germans had people spreading Hoof and Mouth among the US horses sent over. The government knew they were losing a significant number horses but didn’t know why until after the war. The Japanese were delivering infected animals to the parts of China they didn’t hold in the hopes of spreading contagion. In ancient times corpses of people who had died from disease were launched over city walls with catapults.
Disease has always played a role in warfare and the Jihadists are conducting a war.
Didn’t know this. Wow.
Off topic: During the invasion of Normandy, a German officer who was a POW was watching the offloading of men and materiel in support of the invasion. But he had a question: Where are your horses?Amazing the difference - at least in the American experience - between 1917 and 1944. To an American, by 1944 the idea of using horses to transport supplies was utterly anachronistic.
