They tried vaccination on SARS (another coronavirus).
They had to give it up because when they were doing the animal testing, they found that either re-infection, or subsequent infection with a *different* coronavirus, would make the immune system go nucking futz, with severe side effects up to and including death.

Some have suggested that such is why the death rate is so high in Wuhan.

Care to pull your head out and try again?

they ran into the same problem with the Dengue vaccine here in the Philippines. It didn't always work, and some who got the vaccine and then got Dengue (a different strain of the virus) died. LINK

Typically, a vaccine works by triggering the immune system to make antibodies against the virus. These antibodies then fight off the virus during an infection.

But dengue is a tricky virus. Dengue antibodies don't always protect a person. In fact, these antibodies can make an infection worse. The dengue virus actually uses the antibodies to help it spread through the body. So a second infection with dengue — when your blood already has antibodies in it — can actually be worse than the first; a person is at a higher risk of severe complications like plasma leakage syndrome.

In its follow-up study, Sanofi found evidence that Dengvaxia acts like the first infection for a person who has not been previously infected. The body produces antibodies against the vaccine, which have a similar potential for harm.

the "side effect" of giving the vaccine is that parents stopped getting ALL shots for their kids, so we had a measles epidemic, plus cases of polio and Diphtheria which were rare here.

The suspicion was that the politicians were bribed to approve of the "experimental vaccine".

This was before Duterte so they can't blame him.

My head was never “in” an despite your snaky response I got a link from another poster and went to the study of the attempt to use the prior vaccine with modifications and the failures they experienced. This is the level I am used to so may I suggest you park your ego as another Freeper who posted the initial report was adult enough to do so. I noted that using similar subjects as they had in the SARS regimen they noted the trajectory of the disease was not the same in the response and even trying different protocols the path forward using that particular Vaccine was abandoned

In addition I have looked into other attempts to repurpose or modify existing Vaccines in a similar matter although I have not yet delved into them, but then I am an observer not a creator seeking truth

Not childish retorts

Good Day
