The obvious answer is medical care has to be provided in a equitable way to achieve the greater good.
Those people who are passed their productive part of their life can receive palliatives.
Others to be evaluated based on subjective criteria by officials.

Before I would ever sign up for single-payer (or Medicare for All) I would like to see a complete cost breakdown, including changes on limits of coverage. One argument my uber-liberal friends keep making is that the increases in taxes would be more than made up by a decrease in out-of-pocket expenses. (No proof provided, of course. No comprehensive analysis, of course.)

We already know that older citizens would be denied coverage in some instances, because it would be cost-effective. Say, cancer in a 90 year old person.

And if it's true Medicare For All, it means you will *still* have to pay a premium each month. So it's increased taxes and the ol' monthly hit, which could change over time.
