I've been following the Coronavirus for a little while but there seems to be something strangely absent in all social media.
1. Where are all the 1st hand videos of someone WITH Coronavirus saying "Gee, I have a coronavirus and this is what it's doing to me"?
2. Where are the videos of people with testimonials about how they survived Coronavirus?
I'm not saying they don't exist. But I've done a search on net and youtube for "I have corona virus" and I can't find any. Now it's possible that I've just not dug deep enough.
Does anyone have any links to such videos?
There has been information that infected patients of the Wuhan-coronavirus can become sick again, experiencing it more severely. Also they dont know if the survivors of the virus are able to infect others. Something like typhoid Mary. There is much stigma surrounding it.
GREAT point. Makes one really, really wonder about this “hey 80% of people just get a slight cold” line. Look at Italy: marathon runners in their late 30s/40s who are on ventilators (just an assumption, they are listed as “grave” or “serious” in Italian). Finally found a good use for my incredibly rusty Italian!
That is the point! If it's got a 2% fatality rate then that assumes that 98% of everyone who gets it lives. WHERE ARE THE FIRST HAND videos of "I survived the Corona Virus"? Even assuming China has managed to censor every single one of these then what about everywhere else?
Yeah and where are the “I just got a mild cold” videos from the folks who got it from the Diamond Princess? 700+ folks with the means to spend $10K on a cruise - most are probably pretty media savvy...
Most folks on cruises this time of year are old people.
I just got off one that had to be 95% at 65 and over.
Do they take away their phones? Do they cut off internet access? So many questions.
The other option is 2 week deep dives on single topics like snowboarding/outdoor sports, cooking, robot building, etc.
Looks like we'll need to get a snowboard...
It didn’t seem like very many on that ship posted videos. Seems as though once they tested positive they were taken away and never heard from again.
I guess I don’t get this. Who takes videos of themselves or loved ones when they’re sick? My guess is about 95 percent of the human race thinks a camera is the LAST thing they want to see when they’re suffering!
My point is that the world is full of drama queens (and kings) who do not waste one minute in posting a video on youtube or facebook whenever anything happens in their life even slightly out of the ordinary. In addition one can make money from advertising on youtube from popular videos. If a video existed it would be very popular. Yet no videos on youtube? Nobody reposting these types of videos for hits for their channels? Nobody posting videos on facebook?
I guess it might change the more people that are infected but it just seems weird to me.
.
“And nobody is going on youtube? “
could be the ones who get extremely sick and die don’t really feel like making videos, and the ones who survive may simply not get much sicker than having influenza or viral pneumonia and don’t think it’s a big enough deal to make a video of ...
“it just seems weird to me.”
Seems weird to me too. Millions of cat videos but not even 2 or 3 virus survivor videos? You know someone (most likely under 40 yrs. old) would document on YouTube the entire process from diagnosis to present day status.
I know...if they did a youtube channel just on that it would be wildly successful.

Another sad story.
