This neighborhood appears to favor cats over dogs. You see plenty of indoor/outdoor cats here and rare to see any dogs walked or out. A lot of neighbors leave food out for the cats as well so none go hungry. A couple even build large weather protection areas in the winter for cats who might not have owners.

The couple who build shelters for the cats....i love them. Someone posted not long ago about the man who repurposed coolers into cat shelters for ferals. Heroes all.

We have four cats two house cats and two barn cats. Although the barn cats may go outside occasionally they don't go far from the safety of the barn.
Both are tough cats but they know they are no match for a hawk.
