My sister is going on an 18 day cruise to Hawaii in March. I have discussed my concerns, but she is going. She and her husband will be staying with me on both ends of the trip, but I have warned her that “the inn may be closed” on their way home if there are infections in Hawaii, or anything associated with her ship. They are frequent cruisers, and this is a short one for them.

I won’t be posting the thread continuation.

Getting tired of being called Chicken Little.

Not an opus, just sick of dealing with the same trolls.

If someone else wants to pick it up...it’s fine by me.

"I want to know if this is in my county so I can decide If my 89 year old father-in-law goes to the grocery store with me or not"

Yeah, I hear you. My mother is 94 and lives 700 miles away. My brother and sister-in-law are near her, but they aren't taking this seriously. I'm looking to go out and spend a week or so with her, but I'm also afraid I might accidentally bring her the virus. People look at me like I'm crazy when I mention the virus. Most are completely lulled into complacency.

They placed the Diamond Princess evacuees back into the “other” group, even though many of them are being scattered back to their home countries. Probably makes it easier to follow trends for the epidemiologists. I suspect other people from the DP who are currently quarantined in their home country, but later test positive, will also be counted in the “other” group.

"The viral load that was detected in the asymptomatic patient was similar to that in the symptomatic patients, which suggests the transmission potential of asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic patients."

The 75-bed hospital typically treats only tuberculosis patients, but state officials have reserved 22 beds in a separate wing for people suspected of having coronavirus, as well as infected patients who are experiencing mild symptoms. Patients who need a higher level of medical attention would be transferred to an acute care hospital in the area, Van Deusen said.

Yep, I said this was the reason they were brought to San Antonio. The Texas Biomedical Institute Biosafety Level 4 lab and Southwest National Primate Research and Southwest Research Institute. The biosafety lab is a private enterprise and broke ground to double the size in '17.

Excerpt from the article:

By the numbers: Ten passengers flew into US airports on commercial airliners and were later diagnosed with coronavirus.

Four of those 10 passengers went through temperature checks and were found not to have a fever or any other symptoms of the virus. Two of those passengers flew into Los Angeles International Airport and two flew into San Francisco International Airport. Previously, a CDC spokesperson had told CNN that two of the passengers were symptomatic during flight, but the spokesperson later said they were asymptomatic while flying.

Another four out of the 10 passengers were not screened because they flew into airports that did not have screening at the time. Those cases are in Illinois, Washington state, Massachusetts and California.

It's unclear whether the final two passengers went through temperature checks because health officials at the CDC and in Wisconsin and Arizona refused to say when asked by CNN.

No US coronavirus cases have been caught by airport temperature checks

Try to ignore them - for every one troll there are probably a hundred who are interested in the info. It’s a huge service to FR

Interesting article. We are seeing now worldwide what doctors have been saying in Wuhan. Hopefully people here will see why this is such a threat?
