I run XP in a Virtual Machine (a software-only virtual PC, running inside the actual PC, W10 in my case) and use it for servicing old (legacy) equipment whose support apps won’t run in W7 and later.
Although I use this one Windows XP...CPU all the time...
I do have a Windows 10 HP CPU sitting here...in case I need it..
I do a lot of stuff on-line....So, I figured I needed a backup..So far I have not.
I might contact you...for some guidance on making the switch when it happens...if that would be okay.
