Happy Valentines Day.
There are currently 67,100 confirmed cases worldwide, including 1,526 fatalities.
This Virus can't take heat and humidity. Once both start to rise in the next 60 days, new infections will stop until the fall.
From the article-
British passenger Andy West told MailOnline that passengers were warned by the plane's captain that they could be on the tarmac for a while because 'seven other planes' also had suspected cases. Tom
I don't think we will get that information. They literally are in the process of de-raceitising the disease. Unbelievable!
It has begun

One series of articles that I thought were interesting were about independent measures of what is really going on in China. Here's a snip from one from today - China Is Disintegrating: Steel Demand, Property Sales, Traffic All Approaching Zero
In our ongoing attempts to glean some objective insight into what is actually happening "on the ground" in the notoriously opaque China, whose economy has been hammered by the Coronavirus epidemic, yesterday we showed several "alternative" economic indicators such as real-time measurements of air pollution (a proxy for industrial output), daily coal consumption (a proxy for electricity usage and manufacturing) and traffic congestion levels (a proxy for commerce and mobility), before concluding that China's economy appears to have ground to a halt.Much more at the link. That conclusion was cemented after looking at some other real-time charts which suggest that there is a very high probability that China's GDP in Q1 will not only flatline, but crater deep in the red for one simple reason: there is no economic activity taking place whatsoever.
We start with China's infrastructure and fixed asset investment, which until recently accounted for the bulk of Chinese GDP. As Goldman writes in an overnight report, in the Feb 7-13 week, steel apparent demand is down a whopping 40%, but that's only because flat steel is down "only" 12% Y/Y as some car plants have ordered their employee to return to work (likely against their will as the epidemic still rages).
If anyone wants or needs a new phone, now, this weekend is the time to get one. Even if the phone is made elsewhere, there are components made in China. Many things like that.
Unfortunately, I don’t know of any summaries or transcripts.
If you have a smart phone, I have gotten in the routine of listening live (10 am) on my android phone with an app (can get it on Google Play Store) called “Talk Right”. I’m sure an I-Phone would have a similar app. If I miss the “live” broadcast, I can also go to “podcasts” on that app & catch it there later (no ads, either - listening live, you do get radio station interruptions).
Source please?
“Flights from China into Hawaii daily? Or do you mean the US in general?
I thought flights from China into the US were being restricted. Maybe that was just from Wuhan area, like thats the only place with it...”
Not sure about Hawaii specifically, but Air China (and probably some others) are STILL running flights to the US. Not as many, but they still fly here and back non-stop. American, United, and Delta did stop their flights about 10 days ago, but not the Asian carriers.
It is TOTALLY INEXCUSABLE to continue to allow this, considering what we’re dealing with.

But check out Singapore. Since it’s right on the equator, even when it’s cool, it’s hot, if you know what I mean.
Since almost everything is made in China, it won’t be long before we will have shortages and prices will go up. Even so called American goods like domestic cars and trucks are largely made from Chinese parts.

Hope my last shipment of supplies gets to the bunker.
You know I almost put in a similar line on that post, from a commercial where one of the people says : "IT'S HAPPENING!"
We know something big has begun.

Good luck getting an N95 mask ... guess where they’re made? Mostly in China! Check out this for the details - it’s EXCELLENT:

In particular,go to 23:25 to hear about the N95 mask from the only surgical mask maker left in the US. The earlier part is Rosemary Gibson, author of “China Rx”
