No problems yet! (legs crossed)
What the...?!
Got the updates on my PC and laptop w/o any issues...
If somebody was to come out with a Window Primitive OS (ie Seven) I’d buy it.
So, now I know what happened.....
a lot of people would- I’m still using 7 in a dual boot scenario- linux being my main os- windows 7 is my gaming and photoshop os-

You can buy Seven on ebay.
happened to me last week. still cant use the computer at all.
Probably Microsoft’s way of resetting users who have limited Microsoft’s reach by turning off most of their invasive “features”.

Sure, but don't complain if you use that computer to access any online account, especially financial and medical accounts, and you end up being hacked. Sorry, I loved Win 7 Pro a lot, but I won't risk our personal information.
It's worse than "There are no more security patches". The fact is, the Windows 10 patches now give the Bad Guys a pile of clear examples of things that need fixing on Win10 that will never get fixed on Win7. Win7 has a bulls-eye painted on its back now, and it will get progressively worse with time.
Using Win7 in a closed network environment (no internet connection) is the only way I'll run it from now on.
I have been auto-updating for at least 10 years and never had a single problem.
Three different machines, all purchased new and all updating on the MS schedule.
All Brand name hardware.
I’m baffled as to why people have trouble with these updates. They are obviously doing something different than me.
A PC guy once told me that folks who have trouble are those who install applications that re-write register settings. But I don’t know if that’s true or if it’s that simple.
Mine’s working fine with the new updates.
My machine runs OK, now.
I hope Bill Gates’ new yacht needs frequent software updates.
I tried updating to 1909 and there was a profile error on the first boot. Stuck right there. Had to force a reboot. Then almost nothing remained of installed programs. Even folders and files were wiped from the desktop. But the user profile had the same name. The desktop was almost like a brand new one(Even the wall paper was gone). Firefox profile was completely wiped. No bookmarks or anything. Email program wiped of accounts and data.
I had to uninstall it and go back. Thank God everything returned to normal.
I updated this week and later in the day, I shut my computer down and restarted later. When I entered my password, the main page did not display any of my programs, etc. Talk about stressing out! Had to restart four times in order for everything to show up and ever since then have had no issues.
You may be wasting your money. Modern CPUs are made for Win10 and are not compatible with older Windows OSs like Win7.
