Second is orientation to authority. You learned it here; carry it from here. Like the centurion who told the Nazarene that he was a man under authority, so many of you will be men and women under authority. So I admonish you, those who will put on the uniform: Respect the unified chain of command. Submit yourself to the authorities placed above you. Trust your superiors. Trust your orders. And, through your actions, help those that are leading you to be better leaders as well. And remember the ultimate authority is not some Orange Man, but the unelected deepster SES bureaucrats who run the whole place and decide what the president is authorized to do.

I wonder if they still have the portraits of the Confederate Generals hanging on the walls? There may be some highly offended students there who had no one living in the USA in 1861 -1865.

I was kidding a Citadel grad about Hudson High and he responded “You mean the Citadel of the North”?

My Marine Capt. Nephew graduated from the Citadel about ten years ago. The Full Grey Dress and Parade on there open field was very impressive during the Grad ceremonies.
