WOW! They went for it, realDonaldTrump

I have to admit that I'm stunned.

Mike Bloomberg

Here it is, folks. With a pandemic at our doorstep and the country looking to its president for leadership, Trump decides to call the coronavirus... a "hoax."

This is what cowardice looks like.

0:04 Carlos Osweda

And the communist.

Bernie Sanders

Why does this president repeatedly think that scientific facts are hoaxes?

This is the most dangerous president in the modern history of our country. He is putting our people’s lives at risk. He must be defeated.

Carlos Osweda

Now, I know that you would never take me into your confidence, Mr. President, but I can ask rhetorically.

Is Bloomberg one of your agents?

Because if he isn't, he's sure behaving as if he is.

Bernie isn't bright enough to be working for you. But Bloomberg?

I have no idea what's real and what isn't when it comes to Bloomberg.

Based on an interview he did in 1999, I'd say that he's as dense and oblivious as he seems, but of course I don't know him at all.

But I have to hand it to you.

"Trump said the COVID-19 virus is a hoax."

Yes! One day after Trump HAD A PRESS CONFERENCE ABOUT THE MEASURES HE'S TAKING AGAINST COVID-19, he says it's a hoax.

This is truly an amazing era.

In the past, political lies were at least plausible. Today, the Democrats and their media lapdogs have a kind of anti-Trump Tourette Syndrome that makes them blurt lies that have no basis in reality.

Think about this.

Your enemies simultaneously admit that you're taking steps against COVID-19 and claim that you don't believe in the existence of COVID-19.

I blame alcoholism.

In 1999, Bloomberg said that one of his hobbies is "dining."

Just so GROSS.

I see him raising one of those wine glasses that hold an entire bottle and then digging into pan-fried fat.

A whole table of rich New Yorkers with greasy lips.

I'm 57, and I've never seen what you've accomplished:

Your enemies are now IRRELEVANT to the election.

The Democrats are no longer a factor.

Your will be the fourth American president to run unopposed.

It's Friday, and Twitter's empty, so here's something I saw that I'm shocked that I never noticed before.

General George S. Patton believed in reincarnation. He wrote of remembering eight previous lives.

I've discussed Patton with people on social media.

It's safe to say that most people don't understand Patton. The man is far less important than his accomplishments.

But here's what I saw tonight that I never saw before.

I'm reminded of ANOTHER man.

And here's a photo that I didn't see before tonight.

This explains a lot.

To me, that is.

I've felt quite at ease since the second GOP primary debate, during which I saw an amazing MILITARY strategy being used.

But there was always something else.

A sense of inevitability.

As if this period of time is a sorting out of the game board, once and for all.

It explains the frenzy of your enemies.

I'm not talking those who disagree; I'm talking those who hate.

In every sense, I've had a terrible life. But I always knew something was coming.

And now I'm watching it happen. As a small child, I got the sense that if I just persevered, at some point all would be well. And it is!

This is my favorite Bill Mauldin cartoon. "Ol' Blood and Guts" was Patton, of course.

And the final non-sequitur that a movie fan would love: The role of Patton in the movie was offered to Robert Mitchum, but he turned it down.

He said he refused it because he was worried that he might get his fingers caught in the treads of a tank.

I fell out of my chair laughing.

It's a great time to be alive.
