Might I suggest taking L-Lysine supplements?
They lesson the severity of the Herpes virus (cold sores)
and shingles belong in that category
Singles are Herpes Zoster, and cold sores are Herpes Simplex.
I have taken them with great success.

Dolly, I am trying to avoid people right now. Sometimes I get an intense stabbing pain and it makes me catch my breath and grimace. I don’t really want to do that in public.
I will hunt for the L-Lysine supplements. Product availability here is hit-and-miss.
Thank you for your encouragement. Everything I read says that this goes away after 2 - 6 weeks. I am getting a few more itchy bumps away from the initial site.
