I would hope to think that this American couple getting married back in their home country of Vietnam would have some commonsense, it’s a wedding. You’ve been living together in the United States for how long? Like really...this wedding is soooo important you put your lives and all your guests in danger?

Very applicable description of certain persons and their inertial reaction to an approaching emergent situation. Kind of opposite to “Sky is falling” syndrome, of which I have to be careful to not succumb.
