I’m a 26 year survivor of esophageal cancer... Caught in time for surgery. Had the best surgeon in the country/world at Sloan-Kettering. Life-altering surgery but I survived to see my kids marry and the birth of 10 grandchildren with another on the way in May.
I am a sixteen year survivor. The operation is a bitch and recovery is long and trying. But you have no choice. Key to survival is early detection of Barretts syndrome. Have an endoscopy if you have history of acid problems or reach age 60. Just do it!
